BACKCHAT! Well, now you can add any comments you like to One In Ten magazine, and we'll print them and put them online! Intrested? Simply click HERE! I've been figuring out how to use the internet better, and I have a few ideas - let me know what you think on out brand new feedback page! To make this site a more enjoyable place to visit, I'm gonna add a chat room. I've seen one that's done using JAVA, however I'm not a big fan of JAVA (It's so god damn slow!) so it will be available to visit via IRC too.
The youth group are going online too, soon you'll be able to see what we're all like, and send us messages! If this takes off, and I get some more Perl expirence, we can have all the youth groups on the net! Cool eh? Well gotta go to bed (I'm getting soooo tired) I'll update again soon - wait 'till you see what we've got planned! |

Queer as Folk! I now have the tools to write, staring me right in the face and I find I can't express everything that I want to say. So what do I do now? Maybe I could just let all my feelings be written about the new TV evolution of drama, Queer as Folk, which I, and I'm sure millions of people all-over the country, love more than Ab Fab. Channel four are getting pleads to remove the show from their progr amme, and there were 30 complaints to BSC about it on the first night on air, but the overall consensis is that the show contains exellent characters, great acting, choreography, photography and music.
Critics all over the country have been haling the show as a move into the new millenium for drama, and are certain that it will be nominated for several awards. I knew of several "Queer as Folk" parties to watch it at, but with my friends probably talking all the way though it about HIS hair and HIS flat, I thought it would be better on my own, with a glass of wine. The main characters, for people who didn't see it go out, are Stuart, Vince and Nathan. (These are the three that are on the billboards in the best to the worst estates of the country, which actually look completely different in the show). One is a 15 yea r old school boy, who gets pulled for the first time in a wonerfully sexy way, on the Manchester scene (It's about time the Canal, and all the scene is shown for it's beauty, and it's pretentiousness at the same time on national TV!) by a 29 year old who works in PR, with a £1/2 million flat, and a cravance for all the highs all the time, no matter whether anyone wants it at first or not. The other guy rang a few bells when he came home at the end of a hectic night of driving everywhere for Stuart in the company car, sits back and watches a Doctor Who episode! Everyone I know loves it! Just thought I'd mention our excitement on here. If you wanna know what's happening for the next episode, CLICK HERE! For anyone who has had their head stuck in the sand all month, the show goes out on Channel Four at 10.30 on a Tuesday night, and is repeated late on saturdays. The magazine is now being run by the Sheffield lesbian & gay youth group as a team.
We would like to visit other youth groups in the country to do some joint-ventures. Let us know if you would be intrested in taking part. All the youth groups in the country will be contacted soon so we can form better unity.

Well, to start with, the website has been (finally) updated, so you can click & browse around the little of One In Ten Online. You can also subscribe to us now, by mailing us. Also we applied for a new computer, and we got some money for it. So what are we gonna get? It's an Apple Macintosh G3 350mhz machine!!! (Mail me if you can advise better!)
We are also Dying for advertisers at the minute, because we are fed up of phototcopying, collating, and stapling the magazine ourselves, and would like to print. So again if you know of any cheap, reliable printers, mail me.
I'd like to take a minute to apologise to Simon & Gary who left the magazine a while ago, and I put some words online that were not meant to be here. Simon & Gary have moved on and is still working for virually nothing, doing freelance everything. I'm sorry they left and I'm VERY sorry about what I wrote about them leaving on here. I never meant to offend anyone, or bitch. I wish them every success for the future. Sorry guys.
At least I got feedback! Thanks to those who let me know it was there. I'll update again soon, Matthew. |
